December 13th, 1997: Pastor Victor M. Walker started the House of Prayer Ministries by Faith with a founding group of seven adult members and 8 children. Church Services were officially held at the Holiday Inn in Matteson, Illinois beginning what has now become "House of Prayer Ministries By Faith". In February of 1998: Pastor Walker received an invitation to teach a Wednesday night Bible Study at the Richland Park Community Church of the Nazarene. During this time, House of Prayer Ministries by Faith moved its activities to the Richton Park facility where services continued. Pastor Walker received invitations to minister in places such as Costa Rica, Bulgaria, London, and Zambia, Africa—where he traveled with four men of the congregation for two weeks. Through God’s grace and favor, the congregation continued to grow, and outgrew the facility in Richton Park, IL thus House of Prayer Ministries by Faith was in need of more space. In May of 2009:  An opportunity arose to purchase Good Shepherd Church located at 480 Lakewood Blvd, Park Forest, IL 60466. At this location we currently stand as the House of Prayer Ministries By Faith which is a  testament to faith, perseverance, and the unity of believers.
